State Bank of India is an Indian multinational, public sector banking and financial services statutory body currently ranked 43rd largest bank in the world, and 205th in the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's biggest corporations of 2021. Is also noted to currently be the UK’s largest Indian Bank.
#mkt has been approached by the UK division of the company and challenged with creating multiple strategies and campaigns to promote SBI UKs services and increase brand awareness.
In no particular order or combination, we were asked to only use digital platforms, focus on mobile users, and/or target the residents of India planning to move to the UK.
Having in mind the request of SBI UK, it was decided to tackle both social media channels and advertising routes: social media channels due to the current following base that could also attract similar people and increase organic reach, and advertising to find new potential customers via a non-organic way.
#mkt has then started planning and creating content for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, where several different post categories were tested out: from service to informational posts, both either in an image or video format. These would then be published by the company’s internal team once approved.
The success of some of the creatives was then recreated in different sizes and used in the London Underground screens, placed in the bank branches across the UK and also transformed into flyers.
In regards to the advertisement platforms, we have focused mainly on Google ads due to their popularity across the target audience and ability to create campaigns across the Google network. We have created Search and Display campaigns focused on the target service pre-defined, where HTML graphics have been developed for the last.
